Day 94 - Farm Elephant

I've long collected elephants and one year for my birthday, Chuck got me this one. He lugged that rascal into our living room and gift wrapped him.

That was several moves ago, and we never left him behind. He's held this coveted spot for 18 years now. He's about 18 inches tall and concrete - so NOT lightweight.

Oh, how cute! And what fond memories that little guy evokes.

love it!

i bought a tacky colorfully-painted elephant once at auction (why? why?). it sat on my back deck while i decided what to do with it (put it at the curb or in the compost pile), when my ex-husband's daughter spied it and fell in LOVE with it. So, I gave it to her (who's the best auntie ever??), and now RUSSELL lives with the tacky elephant right outside his front door. HA!

At our house it's concrete turtles.
The one I got for a Christmas present is still sitting at the foot of the steps, simply because it's too heavy to move. Usually there's a cat sitting on it. If the cats were at your house, they'd be happy to sit on your elephant too.

LOL Bettye - I also have a tacky painted one, and a gold painted one and a leather one, and......

I guess my cats are desentisized to the elephants. They pretty much ignore them.
