Day 101 - Sasanqua

This was my mother's favorite flower - perhaps because it bloomed at such a strange time. Sasanqua is in the Camellia family, and it's sometimes blooming in December. So we always had fresh flowers for a long time after summer was gone.

It's at the end of her house (well, I'll probably always refer to it as 'her house' - though she's been gone for some years now) and is gorgeous right now.

I didn't realize how large it had gotten till I stopped there today. And the ground under it is all pink from the wind and rain today.
