Day 139 - Fluffy and the Reindeer (Day 5 of 25 days of Christmas)

While Emma Grace is checking everything out, Fluffy decided my yummy Christmas plaid throw was just there for her to sleep on.

I love that little reindeer behind her. Friends gave him to me as a gift several years ago. He plays "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and I smile every time I hear it.

NOTE - Okay, I stand corrected. I guess it's a moose (what do I know)... but it still plays "Grandma got run over by a reindeer". Maybe the creators didn't know the difference either.

Day 138 - Oops, I'm caught (Day 4 of 25 days of Christmas)

Emma Grace has been extremely interested in all the Christmas decorations going up.

"Who me? I was only looking!!

Day 132 - Fluffy Kitty

It's been cold and rainy and I have the 'crud' so haven't ventured outside today. This is "Fluffy"! She rarely lets me get a photo of her but frequently lays so you can be tempted to run her belly. NOT a good idea.

She's a long hair, gray calico (at least that's what the vet said). Her mother is "Halloween" who's photo has appeared here previously. However, you'd never know they were even related.

Fluffy is about 10 years old and thinks she's Queen of the World. She was here before the dogs, so she put them in their place quickly, however she wasn't particularly pleased when Emma Grace appeared on the scene.

Day 108 - Halloween

Yeah - I've posted this before - but I decided it was appropriate for today. This IS "Halloween". I named her that because of her coloring and because I said she was ugly (yeah, yeah I know - she's not really ugly - but she's improved with age). She lived at the barn for about 12 years - it's amazing a barn cat lasted that long. She has since moved to my deck and lives a life of luxury. No more foraging for food or looking for a bed. She has a 'cat house' on the deck and a bed that I just recently put a heater in (and she loves it).

She's always looking in my french doors and would probably come inside - but Emma Grace and Fluffy would not be pleased - and I'm sure Halloween would get the best of them in a fight.

She gets along fine with the dogs - she lets them know who's boss!

Day 45 - Frosty is home from the groomer

... and smells so good (to me anyway).
And of course the furkids had to 'sniff' him!

Day 34 - Emma Grace in a basket

I put this basket on my coffee table to put my cross stitch in - finally gave up on that as Emma Grace was determined to use it for her own purposes. I finally put a piece of soft fabric in and she's a happy camper.

Day 27 - Halloween

....no, not the holiday - my cat!

It seems I'm on a tear with the animals. Halloween is my outside cat. She "was" THE barn cat while Chuck was alive. He went down to the barn every day to feed and talk to her, and she would follow him around the field when he was out there. Over the years she had MANY kittens (Fluffy was one - though they look nothing alike), and caught many mice and....

Her mother had come to our barn and had a litter of kittens - then got out in the road and got killed. Chuck raised the kittens and over the years they all disappeared except Halloween.

When Chuck died, she moved to the back yard - then she moved to the deck... where she presently lives. When she moved to the deck it was time to visit the vet - I did NOT need a constant supply of kittens.

She thinks the dogs are there for her to rub on and , she's become quite tame over the years. She has a nice box and bed on my deck and I feed her on a table where the dogs can't get her food.

She's 13 years old - and that's a long time for a barn cat to survive. She still appears as agile as she ever was, but doesn't usually stray very far from the deck.

Day 19 - Fluffy the cat

It's another 'kitty day' for me as I haven't even been outside today. This is "Fluffy". She thinks she's queen of the world! She is actually a rescued barn cat with a major attitude. She's been inside since about 2 months old and she's currently 9 or 10 (I can't remember for sure). She was here before Belle and Frosty and definitely before Emma Grace - and she didn't particularly appreciate all those interlopers coming into her territory.

She's really a gorgeous cat - the vet calls her a gray calico and she definitely has long hair. Looked nothing like any of the other barn cats we ever had - I'll post her mother's picture another day.

In the second photo she's sitting in my bedroom window. It's one of her favorite spots - I'm amazed she allowed Emma Grace to be that close to her.

Day 17 - Emma Grace

Well, I mentioned Emma Grace in my post yesterday, but failed to show her - so here she is. She is the nosiest cat I've ever seen - and generally into everything! She drives Fluffy crazy (a photo of Fluffy later).

The first shot is taken in the new den (aka my exercise room). She decided she needed grooming while I was cycling this AM, and tried to get in the sun that was shining on the rug. The second one is in the living room.
