Day 49 - Goat Barn

Well, as the title says, this is my goat barn and corral. It's kinda off to the side just outside my back yard. It has four stalls and an entry door from the yard (just to the left of the tree). Wouldn't be big enough for larger animals, but it was designed for the goats. Chuck built it when we first got the goats. The wood siding is wood that came off the old 'cellar house' (used to store vegetables on the farm) that was falling down. I helped nail the siding on and those boards are hard as a rock!

The tree closest to the door is covered with wisteria and while it's not particularly healthy for the tree, it smells wonderful in the springtime when it blooms.

If you enlarge the picture you can see my goats (I'm down to five - YEA!).

Day 48 - Flamingos

No, it's not a gag - I put them there myself. Long story, but I've gotten attached to them. They don't eat much, they're not messy, they're bright & cheerful. They're in the same garden area as the birdbath and the path is to their right.

Day 47 - Garden path

Understand - I am NOT a gardener. I love to look at pretty gardens/flowers, I just don't like the making/maintaining of them. I did 'make' this one, and sometimes I actually maintain it (though hopefully I've got it to a point that it pretty much maintains itself).

There's a hybrid willow out of the picture that starts loosing it's leaves in July - hence my gravel path is mostly leaves at the moment.

If you look closely (or enlarge the photo) you can see the birdbath I posted yesterday - AND, my pink flamingos. There's also another shallow birdbath near the flamingos, though it's so shallow it rarely holds much water. This path goes from my patio area to the pond gate. I created the gravel path and planted all that monkey grass eons ago (not a fun project I might add). Chuck always wanted to 'thin' it - and I threatened him with bodily harm if he touched one blade. I love my path.

Day 46 - Birdbath

This birdbath in my back "garden" (yeah, I've been reading a British novel) actually has water in it from our recent rain.

Day 45 - Frosty is home from the groomer

... and smells so good (to me anyway).
And of course the furkids had to 'sniff' him!

Day 44 - What is that stuff on my windshield

....could it actually be rain???? I'd almost forgotten how it looks - WONDERFUL!!!

Driving in the rain isn't my favorite - but it was a blessing today - along with a good report from my Oncologist!!! :)

Day 43 - Georgia Mtn Volunteer Fire Dept

This is the local volunteer fire department - I can almost see it from my house.

Guntersville has a paid department, but there are many volunteer departments around the county who make a major contribution to fire safety.
