I love this building - it's downtown and made of marble. Lobby is what you'd expect that type of building to be. Alas - it's not the post office any longer. I understand the city will eventually do something with it. We have a shiny 'new' post office - that's inconvenient to get to, and has unpleasant workers (I think most of the ones from the old PO retired - can't say I blame them). They built the new PO because the old one wasn't big enough (or what wa their excuse anyway). The fact that the new one is smaller than the old one apparently escapes the notice of the planners.

new one smaller than the old one? Another infamous oxymoron - "government planning" LOL
I am glad to know that I am not the only one who thinks the new one is hard to get to. I have never had to actually deal with the crabby workers, because they always seem to close early on the days I go, and the stamp machine is ALWAYS out of order.
I really enjoy the old buildings. New ones just sort of generically seem characterless these days. Like all the great architects are gone, and now we're left with the ones that only know how to stack blocks.
