It is indeed a lake - Guntersville Lake - 67,900 acres with 949 miles of shoreline. It occupies a valley with mostly steep, sloping mountain ridges. It is a man-made lake, created by Guntersville Dam on the Tennessee River (TVA) in 1939 and flooded in 1940.
It made Guntersville a peninsula and I see lots of lake when I go most anywhere.
~ Well, I'm older than dirt. I have wonderful kids, grandkids and furkids. I'm a breast cancer survivor, and manage to stay pretty busy with my cross stitch design, web site design and Barbie fashions.

Is that a lake? It's lovely with the hills on the far side...
