Day 62 - Huge rocks

You really can't tell how huge these rocks are - lots bigger than a car, and the one on the left is right at the edge (overlooking) the narrow, crooked road up Georgia Mountain. This is in the "spiffy" new subdivision with the great views. As I said previously, they've cut all the decent size trees, lots of 'dirt' has run down onto the road in heavy rains. So, what's to keep these huge rocks from becoming displaced with no growth to keep the dirt from washing away??? Kinda scary!

It's really sad that the developers build these big fancy homes, and there are no large established trees in their landscaping. Sure, it's easier for them to cut everything out so the trees don't get in their way, but it so destroys the natural settings. There's one really expensive development here where the developers left as many large trees as they could. It's a beautiful setting of rolling hills, gorgeous houses, and huge old trees. I'll get some pics for an upcoming blog.

It is scary! Driving through canyons around here - they have metal 'webbing' to keep the falling rocks from the roads . . .
